Dewey Decimal System

The Dewey Decimal System organizes books in ten categories, each of which is broken into smaller subcategories. Each topic corresponds to call number which is located on the spine of the book.

For example, "poetry" is 811. To browse the poetry in our library, go to the 800 section. Books are arranged in numerical order. Spanish books have the same call numbers, but are shelved in their own sections and marked SP.
